Air fountain
Air fountain for Haier. A clear acrylic cylinder where a feather-light veil rises, spins and falls, held up by air alone. We designed, prototyped and built it to tell the story of air for Haier home appliances.

How we did it
3D first
A render with the fountain next to a person settles proportions and logo placement. The technical section shows what is inside: a base with the turbines, the cylinder, a closing head.
The airflow
Twelve turbine fans work in the base. We tested fabrics of different weights and colours until we found an organza that floats in the centre without touching the walls.
The build
Fan mounts and grilles 3D printed, discs and rings laser cut, an acrylic cylinder, a painted black base and light from below.
The control
A PLC drives the fan speed: the veil rises, hovers, falls, following programmed sequences.
The prototype
Two sizes, shown to the client and filmed with the lights off, where the lit fabric is the only thing you see.
The result
The tests
Bring us the context. The constraints. Even the mess.
Finding the way is our job.
