A sarcophagus in a week
A whole sarcophagus in one week, for the Egyptian Museum. From design to installed piece in a single week: a full-size replica of a sarcophagus, milled in parts, assembled and installed in the Materia room of the Egyptian Museum in Turin. Projections bring the original colours back onto its white surface. It is still running today.

How we did it
Design
From the survey of the sarcophagus to a 3D model split into parts a mill can machine and a van can carry.
Milling
The parts come off the CNC mill one after another, in a lightweight material, ready for assembly.
Assembly
Bonding, filling and a matt white finish, because the surface has to work as a screen.
Installation
The sarcophagus reaches the museum and is mounted on its base in the Materia room.
Projections
Projected images give the white sarcophagus back the colours and decoration of the original. The system is still running.

Milling
Bring us the context. The constraints. Even the mess.
Finding the way is our job.
